Excellent experience, dedicated, skills, long-term committment

I enjoy technology and I don’t find myself a single-geared person. I would love a role where a company can benefit from me from an overall technology perspective, and I can deliver on whichever results desired beyond a job expectation. I felt at Investec especially too little time was spent by us all on innovation, overall documentation, technical knowledge and the future. Deemed a bank, and not a technology shop, we lagged severely in technological progress. This especially revealed when we moved onto the new JSE MIT platform. ABSA remained a challenging investment bank division with many systems requiring intricate attention to separation from Barclays and ABSA through a concerning project called Project Valpre We were however currently in a change freeze period overall due to Barclays exiting Africa. This change would happen systematically at first, and thereafter the dissection and separation of the financial and global trading portfolios within Capital Markets.

Learn how to adapt to pressure

Had lots of training FICA , Fraud, Trafficking, money laundering, help to notice what was happening outside the office Many meetings of updates and employee PDM. Courses for checking where there was blockages in production. Update of equipment , fire drill, telecommunications , stationary wastage, copy machine wastage. Disability awareness,

Pros: PDM quartery helped to keep progressing going forward, every three wekks meetings in what whats happening around the company , there was continues staff overflow
Cons: Lots of pressure , had to be alert at all times , most of the time you had to self train , managers never gave anny assitance , if one was trying to collect information you had to hope that you did the right thing otherwise get blkamed for anything that goes wrong

New opportunity

I transferred to my current position after the department I previously worked for relocated. I am grateful for the opportunity I've been given, but after 4 months feel that I am not enjoying my current role. Therefore I am seeking alternative employment, where I can make a meaningful contribution, while enjoying a good work/life balance.

Excellent learning curve

I am good with client telephonically and face to face. Very friendly, love working with people. Very punctual, dealing with difficult clients but also keeping clients happy.

Business Growth

Need to check if I'm being paid according to what is expected. Company has been a blessing to me for working here. Too much learning from being just a technician, worked my way up to heading couple of migration projects, to managing service desk in CIB. Got promoted to Operations Manager managing team of Field Service Managers per campuses in Johannesburg until I moved to Service Management as part of managing the overall Payment Service in CIB

Pros: Analytical, Task bound and always dedicated to work and ethics required.
Cons: Sometime not easy to deal with forever rapidly changing technology, which anyway comes as a learning experience

Excellent

ABSA CIB has young professionals which makes it vibrant and offers a work-life balance. Great career support when opportunities are available. They recognise and reward talent. ABSA Group is embarking on a Africa vision to grow the market share and revenue and I believe there is no better time than now to implement such a strategy as a Pan African Bank. Good place to work Friendly people Easy to get to work Good canteen Close to shopping centers Support for studies Lots of internal training Realistic work house

Excellent Learning Curve

- Month end i spend almost 12 hours at work -Co-workers are generally good - Learnt everything I do - I enjoy taking ownership and responsibility of my numbers -When no one else takes ownership or willing to go the extra mile
