Great opportunity integrate French and Alstom ways of working with SA youth culture and legislation
I am honored to be part of the only train manufacturing company in South Africa. The opportunity to apply the experience, knowledge, training and lessons allows for me to add value each day at work. When we face an HSE incident I can guide and advise my subordinates and colleagues of best practice. I have a good relationship with both the executives and subordinates. Lessons learnt include being sensitive to both the French / Alstom ways of working and balancing that with SA best practices, law and employee profile (majority are less than 35 years old). This together with the project programme are the most challenging aspects of the job.

Involvement in a Multi-Cultural Legacy Project of Reviving Train Manufacturing in RSA
- reviewing and responding to email corresponding and where necessary delegate to team members or appropriate office - participate / facilitate scheduled meetings - conduct at least one plant tour as well as the surrounds -relationship with colleagues is cordial, professional, consultative and engaging - appreciate different cultures (major shareholder is French) and integration of different ways of working - i have learnt Alstom Zero Deviation Plan as well as how to transition from Construction to safe manufacturing of trains. - also had the priviledge of benchmarking SHEQ approach by visiting other Alstom sites in Qatar and France - I enjoy and feel priviledged to be part of a legacy project (revival of train manufacturing and servicing in RSA)
