Working was a greate experience, learning to work wit different diversity and backgrounds.
Working with deferent department and strong teams requires full understsnding of how the company operates to meet the objective. Points learned was to have good relationship with co-workers aiming to achieve one goal. What i mostly enjoyed was care and respect of employees i worked with and team work. Most challenging aspects usually came when targets were not achieved and needed to reconsilate or re-plan to close-up the gab. What i have learned was communication is the key to all problems
Pros: Sent to attend Management course, promoted to be mining Engineer
Cons: working under pressure sometimes

Excellent work experience obtained in fast pace high pressure production environment
A typical work day starts with an update of machines in production, any breakdowns attended to and plans for the day. Morning meetings with foreman and other production personnel to discuss the day's plans. Although I have learnt many technical aspects of my department, I have also learnt that people is your most important asset, and quality relationships are key in obtaining success in a production environment. Project management, budget/cost management, SHEQ management, HR management, Maintenance Management System management is some of the main areas where I have obtained technical experience. I enjoy the fast pace and high pressure and flourish in that environment. I enjoy working with the current mine management team as well as my own team of high experienced individuals. The amount of focus areas at any given time can be a challenge to keep track of. Prioritizing can be challenging.
Pros: Great and healthy company culture. Experienced workers. High quality tools. Best in industry maintenance and operational practices.
Cons: Located far from family

I have been exposed to different projects in the organisation
I have been exposed to different projects in the organization from short term planning to long term planning. My work is project based ,I spent most of my day developing plans that analysis production processes and provide feedback on hoe to be improve the systems in place to reach the set objectives. I am also involved in a lot of ad-hoc work such as drafting of budgets and developing of project schedules. I work well with my colleagues. My key learnings are around making strategic business decisions that are goal oriented. I enjoy developing plans that will add value of the business. The greatest challenge is having plans that are overridden without any scientific methodology that will have a greater impact on the business later on.
Pros: great exposure to different processes in the business
Cons: flat structure - promotion a challenge

Challenging
Start work at 6 am. Review production and process parameters. Look into ongoing project progress. Production meeting. Mine planning meetings - review KPI's and highlight opportunities and challenges. Typical day 60% in High Level Board Meetings. Daily review with subordinates Liaison with staff across the board to foster CI and AO. Lead Plant and Mining AO meeting. Monthly benefits analysis and reporting. Yearly budget presentation. Annual employee salary review input. Changing miner mindsets and union buy-in most challenging. Enjoyable to see change acceptance and benefits realization. I have learned that teamwork is possible if a little slow and any company in any situation can improve if the people have a mind to do so.
Pros: Great company for challenging career
Cons: Difficult to get union buy-in

Excellent Learning Experience
Working for my company was a wonderful experience, on a typical working day everything would be communicated during safety meetings, all tasks will be done during the course of the day, interacting and assisting crew members with their tasks to ensure they are done according to safety procedures. I have learnt a great amount of things regarding safety, leadership skills, how to communicate with other workers, geographical and environmental issues, problem solving I enjoyed most when targets were met and everyone goes home safely back to their loved ones. The most challenging aspects of my job was having to be in many places at the same time.
Pros: Great opportunity for promotion
Cons: Long working hours, unfavourable conditions
