P is for Pulp
No day is the same, every phone call is a different challenge. Working in the paper industry is quite a demanding business. We are a paper merchant, selling paper, packaging and solutions to the public, from the lady with her crafts and arts home industry to the Waltons of the world. My daily challenges are insuring that we supply the customer with the correct product and quantity, we do not always have the stock on our floor, which means I have to source it from Johannesburg, Cape Town or Durban in the expected time frame. I have learn to negotitate with customers, maybe supply them something els in its place, but still exceed their expectations. I enjoy the freedom of my own discretion.
Pros: You can take initiative and do your job in a way that suits your skills and personality, rather than one dictated to you
Cons: Not as much room for promotion
