Great learning experience

On a typical work day I had to receive stock from the supplier, check and inspect stock, pack stock, issue materials to other departments with the help of my co-workers. Had to follow my manager's instructions under strict supervision and take on some of his tasks when he was not available. There is a good working environment and everyone works well together.

Being promoted to Production Manager was a learning curb and stepping stone

1) Preparing daily requirements and achieving targets. 2) Always maintained a good working relationship with co-workers. 3) I've learn't and honed my managerial skills at this company. 4) I enjoy the working environment and the appreciation of top management. 5) The execution,of specific tasks assigned to me, is always challenging.

Pros: Was promoted from Machine toolsetter to Production Manager
Cons: I was compensated for any extra hours that I was required to work.

Best manufacturing skills learnt

A very good place to learn especially about machine operations and time management. Everyday obviously has its challenges but that helps also with ones ability to think in problem solving. The colleagues are great. Friendly and helpful. The management is ... unfair at times but that’s probably because we always under pressure to produce. We try though. We have an had some race issues over the years. The most challenging thing about my job though was having to supervise a department of 33 employees alone but even that helped me improve my leadership skills as well as understanding each person as they are.

Pros: A learning curve
Cons: Poor pay. Long hours. No off days.
