Not only a mans world
When I started working in the maintenance office my nails were done, my outfit was on point and my hair blowed out, in this industry you should be ok when getting dirty. I was looked at and treated like a princess, until I showed everyone who I really was and what I actually love doing, I love being hands on and with this job I don't just sit at a desk I get to interact with staff members on a daily basis and with suppliers. I have to go into the plant or workshop and physically look at parts being it be a cylinder or gearbox, I had to inspect it and learn the aspects of every part, I found this the most interesting because like I said I like fixing things, here I had to listen to the maintenance artisans and check for myself if what they are saying is broken on a gearbox for instance then I had to call a supplier and let them know. My job as being a Codifier is just as interesting, learning about new parts loading it on the system.
Pros: Great opportunity
Cons: No plan for making anyone permamnet

Excellent learning curve
I am currently unemployed. I was a process Engineer at Atlantis Foundries. This title required KPI reviews, process quality assurance, FMEA reviews, ISO conformance (9001 & 14000), regular problem solving (A3 & G8D), and project management as we were on a AI implementation phase. I have gained foundry and machining operations experience, metallurgical laboratory operations and statistical process control.
Pros: Great opportunity for foundry operations experience
Cons: Smell like amine

Excellent learning curve,motivating
it has been a excellent learning curve working at Atlantis Foundries since i did my apprentice there.I am now working there on a contract basis by the melting and maintanance department and before that i was by the core shop.i have a good relationship with the current and previouus foreman,i enjoy being called out for a breakdown and solving the problem becauae a person gets to think on a fast pace so the work the commence.i have learnt that when you work with people who are passionate about their job it makes everything else easier. Most challenging is when there is a shortage of manpower since we work with heavy duty machinery
Pros: great opportunity for promotion and being permanent
Cons: no enough overtime

Excellent learning curve
A typical work day includes testing of silica sand that is used in the plant. I have a great relationship with co-workers, we work well together. I've learnt that work place discipline plays a key role in the workplace. Respect as well. I enjoy the conversations we have during works hours, you spend alot of time with these people so you have to make it last. The most challenging aspects would be to fill in when there is not enough man power within the lab, and sometimes having to do work that's above my paygrade.
Pros: Meeting new people
Cons: Very little to no promotional opportunities.
