Wonderful growth opportunity

Blaauwberg Hospital has afforded me the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally through support and training provided. I enjoy the variety in my day to day activities. No day is ever the same. At times the planned activities are put aside as new or urgent investigations are requested or unexpected absences . Preference is to be given to work that has potential financial implications first before admin work is done as it does not impact directly payment, however, reporting and documentation is equally important and will get the necessary attention as well The most challenging aspects is molding staff within their jobs but then seeing them grow and achieve their potential is also the most rewarding. I am a good asset to any business as I am widely experienced and generally a good all rounder achieving all targets required with integrity and honesty together with hard work and personal drive.

Pros: Great learning opportunity, growth potential, constant challenges to keep you honest.
Cons: Closed environment no real potential for further development

Very diverse environment

I do a very diverse amount of work. I am in charge of all electrical reticulation for this facility. That generally means anything with a copper wire(that's anything from phone lines, data, rewiring doctors rooms or replacing three phase motors). I would start my day with an electrical critical check list and then move on to day to day repairs or break downs. I do enjoy the work as it changes from day to day. However it is not without its up hills. There are a lot of stake holders and tenants not to mention staff that don't often see eye to eye. Maintenance is not seen as a money maker and more as a bottomless pit, and we often have our budgets cut or the belts tightened. Which means we often have to come up with plans to get things up and running.
