It was a learning curve for me and I gained some helpful personal learnings.
On a typical day we would work from 8am to 6pm. We phoned clients with regards to their car insurance and we then proceeded to sell them Discovery Insure. My colleagues were the most delightful bunch of people I have ever met . They were really supportive and helped me a lot . Through the company I have learnt that you need to go for what you want no matter what and never back down for what you believe in. I enjoy taking learning's from people that have made a success in life and then aspiring to be successful as well and going out and achieving what I want. The job became monotonous at times and the same type of people always giving the same excuses without even giving you a chance to talk got to me a bit.
Pros: there was a high earning potential
Cons: Very long working hours and a lot of stress was put onto people every day.

Weak management structures with no processes and guidelines put in place to govern the work force
Weak management structures with no processes and guidelines put in place to govern the work force, making the employees rebels and management has no rerporting structures either. its a rowdy unruly environment where people can just lash at each other on some verbal warfare daily A typical work day: only the breaks are the best Your relationship with co-workers: fake What you have learnt: effective arguing What you enjoy most: flirtacious youth The most challenging aspects of the job: fighting with management everyday because no one knows their job specification, there are no processes or structures in place to serve as guidelines as to how we should be carrying out our duties in a corporate inviroment, people can just misuse power knowing the other would still rebel in the perception of being correct. Long working hrs and a lot of unhappy colleagues.
Pros: none
Cons: 10hr work day

Looking for growth
I started at the company in 2014, I was employed as a call centre agent, I was the promoted to a Quality Assor and then a Personal Assistant. a typical work day would be coming in the morning greeting everyone with a smile and then getting my day started, the relationship I have with the people I work with is different, we know when to work and when to play, As a small business we tend to be more like family the just people we work with. I have learnt that if I am every stuck with something or I don't know how to do it - the best thing to do is ask! I enjoy working with people the most, there is a lot of things you learn from them and how they handle different situations.
Pros: oppotunity for Growth
Cons: long working hours

It shows one that it's important to invest in oneself to achieve better opportunities
At The Mercury Group the atmosphere is unhealthy to productive work day. You work with equipment that no longer functions well, the systems are slow, the hours long. The managers themselves treat us in an unbecoming manner & it's common place to hear profanities directed at the consultants.
Pros: No growth or promotion prospects
Cons: The no pros's whatsoever
