Excellent experience

Processing payroll documents, handling employees queries, filing and attending telephone calls. Having a healthy relationship with co-workers. A company that is looking after its employees and their families, they offer education subsidies and every employee who's been with the company for 5 years or more get paid a certain percentage monthly for long service. Admin staff get ROI depending on the company's performance. The most challenging factor is working with employees who are not literate it becomes a problem when one has to explain certain elements regarding their payslips which they find it hard to understand especially on the deduction side.

Pros: Opportunities for growth, funding for furthering studies, healthy organisational culture
Cons: 30 minutes lunch too short, a very hectic shutdown period where all payrolls get paid at the same time that is monthly and weekly payrolls all get paid at the same time. Monthly work must be finished by first week of Dec because the factory staff go on shutdown and must be paid earlier than normal.

Good working environment

Work daily processing input into the system, liasing with Time& Attendance Staff and HR. Helping with all employees' queries. Issuing out UIF and certificates of service, printing out payslips. Printing IRP5, filing and attending telephone calls and doing job confirmations. I had a very good working colleagues we shared the work accordingly and maintained a healthy working relationship and always covered up for one another when one of us was absent. It was a nice company to work for because they took care of their employees by providing subsidies for education for employees and also their families. They also provided ROI for employees as a token of appreciation...

Pros: There is a huge opportunity for growth and a chance to study further and they pay for all of that
Cons: During the shutdown period there is too much work and too little time to do that but we had to do it so long hours would only be the only solution

Excellent learning curve

24 hour production heavy engneering challenging to keep up with changing markets steel industry is always volotile great company steep learning opportunities if you only apply your time

Excellent learning environment

Ii is a steelmqking company, as a chemical engineering inservice trainee i am more based in the laboratory. Monitoring the steel making process from the raw materials to the final product.
