Great exposure to environmental management field and a good learning curve
I conduct environmental management compliance and monitoring inspections, plan awareness workshops for communities, review atmospheric emission licences, compile and send reports and attend to complaints from the community members. My relationship with co-workers is mostly great although we sometimes have disagreements. I have learnt to conduct inspections and audits, review licences and monthly and quarterly reports, conflict management, writing report and presenting. I enjoy conducting inspections and audits and educating the community about environmental management and ensuring that the environment is taken care of as well as the safety of the people The most challenging aspect of the job is not able to help the communities due to financial constraints and they think we just don't want to provide services and another challenge is when i have to deal with companies that do not comply to the conditions of their licences.
Pros: exposure to inspecting different business sectors and learning how they operate
Cons: travelling long distances
