Change Management is more than just communication

I have consulted at Standard bank for 10 years on different projects. Currently my role is much more Strategic and I look at Integration, Governance and Business Readiness from a Digital Business point of view. I get involved in Commercial business meetings and discussions and help out wherever the team is requiring my expertise. I am very good with presentations, plans and management of delivery. I also have to report about communications and marketing initiatives that are planned across all the digital projects as well as those that have been executed. In a typical day, I would respond to all e-mails, follow up on outstanding items and prepare for the next forum or meeting. I have learned about effective communication, marketing, consumer behavior, formal governance and agile methods of delivery. The most challenging aspect of my job is senior executives who have their own agendas. I enjoy the governance, knowledge management, agile and coordination of activities.

Pros: Never a dull moment, variety of exposure at different levels of an organisation
Cons: No control over where your next project/client is going to be, political agendas
