Excellent problem solving

As a customer service agent especially in the travel industry,we come across different people with different personalities.I have learned to solve various problems and to come up with solutions to provide a considerable service to customers. I can strongly say that I am now able to deal with difficult customers and I have an increased level of confidence. My current position has taught me to be independent and be able to work within a team . What I strongly like most about my current position is being able to communicate with different people daily,to be part of a big team and give a helping hand to my colleagues, most importantly to put a smile on customers face.Dealing with different queries is a good learning experience as it can be hard at times but I can gladly say I have grown as an individual in this industry .

Pros: Great opportunity to build self confidence
Cons: Long working hours and shifts

Excellent learning experience

From the first day I started working at comair limited I met the staff and management and they were very straight forward and helpful and trained us as best a s the could with all customer service skills and so much more. The shift work was great and the hours weren't bad at all. I enjoyed working the airport shifts.I become more responsible as a person working at the aiport because of all the duties I had to manage with and best of all we had a strong staf. The most challenging part of working for comair was getting use to the flight times but as time went by it got easier and afterwards we knew the times of the flights with the plane code out of our heads.

Pros: Great place to start off in the customer service industry
Cons: no growth within the company

Customer Service Agent

We have two shifts, morning and afternoon shift. A typical shift which starts at either 04:30 am to 12:30 pm or 12:30 pm until the last flight which can be from 18:30 or 22:00 pm. We have a meeting with the supervisor briefing us of any new developments and then we check the roster which informed us where we will be working that particular day, it can either be on a British airways counter, Kulula counters or British airways or Kulula cash office and we had to be helpful to our customers. My co-workers are good to work with, we work as as team and motivate each other, the hardest part of the job is not having family time as I work on weekends and public holidays. The most enjoyable part of my job is that the day is never the same its challenging and meet new people everyday. I have learned a great deal about different people, their cultures and how to deliver great customer service.

Pros: Meeting new people every day
Cons: Shift work, especially waking up 3am in the morning

Dynamic Company

High Performing Company. I manage the the company's entire security program (i.e Corporate Security and Aviation Security) including Security Assurance and Training. The company is very strong on cross training and multiskilling as it would be any any organisation. I am to able to communicate at all levels. I get on very well with my peers and am highly respected amongst my subordinates (I live by my own philosophy, dignity and respect, and kindness above all), to strive for the highest standard in all aspects of my personal and professional life, and to act with integrity and be professionalism in all I do. The company has a great sense of comradery. In my field there are many challenges, what I field most challenging is dealing with pilots as there is a sense of entitlement with some of them. They tend to have the perception that they should not be subjected to security screening because of their status. sadly History has proved them wrong.

Pros: Great place to work, highly innovative in terms of business diversity.
Cons: Tend to build little empires, silos, back stabbing.

Great company, great learning opputunities

I am an organized person who has come from Finance and an Administrative including a Payroll & monthly SARS returns certificate and a background with a varied job role which has also included chasing late payments, sending invoices, ensuring invoices are paid on time and keeping accurate records and files of invoices and remittance advices etc. I enjoy the accounts side of the role and have always had a head for figures. I enjoy creating new systems to ensure that files and records are kept up to date at all times and maintained and feel that I can do this equally as well manually and computerized. I pick up new systems quickly and I am happy to learn any new skills I need to in order to be successful in my role. I work well under pressure and thrive on new challenges.

Pros: Great benefits, stable company, looks after employees
Cons: Pays little, no growth

Personal growth

Since I have started working for comair limited I've grown personally as a person and obtained my love and passion to work with people,I was a counter operator dealing with customer on a daily basis. I met people from different countries and learnt how to communicate best with customer due to the customer service program we were placed in for 3 months. I see the need for change to join another growing company and dealing with customers. I have recently resigned due to studies and I have finished my studies and would like to get back into the working environment working with passengers

Pros: the benfits were great
Cons: no growth within the company

Refining my Years of experience

Comair is a good company to work. Like any other company it has its own cons. There is not much room for growth. Air hostess job is time demanding and it's not easy to have a balanced life most especially if you have a family with kids. But the perks are amazing .

Pros: Great pay
Cons: Micro management
