A Day in the life of aFinancial Controller and Management accountant

A typical day includes various reports and data sets to analyze and send to management. Assisting management with financial struggles and identifying areas in our companies process flow where we can streamline procedures. I work closely with co-workers as I also depend on them for information, therefore having very good relationship. I have learnt a lot about supply chain and production procedures in our process flow and how to apply management accounting to these areas to improve everyday outcomes and individual performances. I enjoy challenges and learning new business aspects. The most challenging aspect of my job is the environment and retail industry in which we operate. It is a bit different to your average FMCG company with a lot of challenges as we are smaller than most but do have a very complex business environment.

Pros: Well balanced family life together with working life. Very understanding when it comes to family.
Cons: No room for promotion and no incentives

Good kearnbg

I'm learning to work with people, working under pressure and working with chemicals. Learning new things such as mixing of different chemicals, producing products from scratch to final product. I am learning to adapt working in different temperatures

Good learning curve

After reporting for duty, or clocking in, my day will start with prepation of glass ware for water sampling and media preparations. Soon products will be brought into the lab, where i log them in a product receival log book. And start analysing them, tablets ill start by weighing them in 9 ml of saline and go on with dilutions and incubate my plate and for liquid products ill pippete 1ml into the 9ml of saline. Will recorde results and create a COA. In the company i learned a lot. Detection test and efficancy test on alcohol and cleaning detergents.

Small but great experience gained

An excellent learning curve, small business but great to gain hands-on experience. You get to work with various departments and gain knowledge and experience in all departments. Good working hours with room for flexihours. A small company with limited resources, need to be creative & resourceful and make plans with little budget.

Stepping stone of becoming great

I check production for any faults. Here from the operators if anything is wrong. Do my best to help where i can. My relationship is good with the ppl. I have learned alot about mechanocal and electrical.i love the most being challenged with something new.
