Successfully solving problems that occur in industry.

Working for my company is a great opportunity for me as it played a big part in growing my career. My responsibility are: Industrial Personal Computer (IPC) management. Maintain production flow on machines. Troubelshoot software related issues that may occur on these machines. Assist with software and hardware upgrades. Keep continuous communication between Programmable Logic Control (PLC) and server. I am open to other people's cultures and backgrounds and therefore I have a good professional relationship with co-workers. I have learnt engineering systems integration where everything is linked together like relationship between server, PLC, OPC and HMI. I have also learnt to meet the deliverables of customers together. I enjoy attending breakdowns as they present chances to apply my skills learnt, also it challenges me with each new problem, therefore allowing me to learn more.

Pros: Being exposed to multi national company.
Cons: Working shifts.

Maintenance experience

Doing breakdown, maintenance and MTC. Working closely with prcocess and quality engineers. Using SAP to order spare parts. Drawings for machine improvement. Supervising artisans. Managing departmental projects and commissioning machinery. On every completion of task, it is such a great satisfaction to achieve something with my team.

Pros: Yes
Cons: It is a great achievement to be able to work with different personalities and still be able to get everyone involved in order to complete a task.

My Review

Every morning I must come in and attend the Department meeting where by we discuss our daily diaries, challenges, incidents and good practices encountered in the previous day. Then after , I will stick to my planned meetings/ activities and prioritize with other oncoming work. My relationship with my colleagues is healthy, transparent, trust each other and support each other always. I have learnt to voice out all defects and assist is rectifying them immediately and only report to my Superior if it is out of my control. I have also learnt to try implement some interventions for my Department to work smart by implementing systems that allows less paper work and filling. I enjoy team work and hearing other employees views and concerns. The most challenging aspects of the job is when a Manager within the Company only complies with the existing procedures when it suits them because sometimes they only consider production and not consider the health, safety and environmental issues.

Excellent

Continental tyres is such a great company to work for, especially for someone like me coming straight from school. Having said that the 12hr shift is on weekend are tiring.

Excellent learning curve

working shifts employees show professionalism at all times and we get along very well I've learnt doing things right the first time I enjoy hearing the clients response when a job is satisfactory Handling difficult clients can be challenging sometimes

Pros: you are allowed to come up with your ideas which will be in line with the company policies
Cons: Long working hours
