I've learned how to work on food manufacturing industry

Good working environment,very divorced

I've learned a lot in the 10 years I've worked,from different leadership coming with different ideas.The company made me who I am,an eperienced machine operator,they've taught me how to do it right the first time,how to pay attention to detail and how to follow SOP's.I have become one of the best blending machine operators in the 10 years I have worked

Typical day

My typical day begins with touching base with my Head of departments to get an understanding on the priorities for the day and whether we achieved what we set out to achieve on the previous day. there's likely to be 2 or 3 meeting thereafter which include interaction with other departments e.g. innovations, supply chain and Product management. these meetings go smoothly due to the mutual respect that has been built between the teams and the common goal to produce results for the business. the challenging aspects is when the product expected to be used in production does not conform thus hindering efficiencies. this is mostly mitigated through supplier quality assurance practices to ensure that all products that have been procured meet requirements onsite.

Pros: Great interaction, information sharing and technology all round
Cons: Long hours due to constant audits with different certification bodies.

Flexible and hardworking person

I xolisa Sindi is an machine and steam sterilized operator currently working for Crown Foods Group in Montague gardens as a steam sterilized and machine operator . I'm hardworking , flexible and a very quick learner .

Excellent Learning Curve

Typical is extremely busy as operational requirements are extremely demanding from meetings, releasing of products both incoming raw materials to finished products, liaising with branches, specifications, etc -I have a professional relationship with my colleagues -I was given an opportunity to head up operations for 3 months, this was challenging yet exciting as it exposed me to a totally new field. -I'm exposed to Innovations, Operations, Technical, Regulatory, Food Safety and this makes my work more flexible rather than challenging

Pros: Exposed to different department, learning different aspects of the business
Cons: Currently no area for promotions

Nice place for entry level in the manufacturing industry

SShifts changing everytime. This week you can be working eight hours per shift. Then boom next week is is 12 hours and it can be a night shift. Sometimes you're required to work on weekends and on public holidays with a short notice period.anging everytime

Dynamic and fast moving company

Great company, dynamic and fast moving . Work day is always full of challenges with great co workers. Knowledgable team members and friendly approachable senior management. Able to learn and take an interest in many aspects of the business, as well as the product range offered. . Some times work life balance is challenging

Great Company but beware of the undertaker

I loved working with a group of people who had a passion for their work. I had a great experience and learned so much. The opportunities are endless especially if you are willing to give up a bit more than work ethic. If you have blond hair and a great body you will surely grow in your career very fast. I unfortunately was not so lucky and had to work long hours and eventually reached my goals. I loved my job and would do almost anything to not be retrenchement because of my Executive's personal vendettas and constructive behavior. I would go back in a heartbeat

Pros: Opportunity to grow, learn, travel. Excellent people
Cons: Exco members are constructive. Skillset and hard work doesn't stand a chance once one has decided
