Great growth experience

Social Media: managing and posting on all Denel social media sites: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram YouTube, LinkedIn Reporting, planning and management of the websites • Personal Assistant to the Group Executive • Secretarial duties to the communications department • Administrative duties of the office –Filing, procurement processing, minute taking and general office management. • Social Group Social media reporting, planning and management of the websites • Experience using social media platforms. Event planning and management • Assisting with promotions, events campaigns and competitions for the company. Assisting with updating external website content (Defence Made Easy website). • Personal Assistant to the Group Executive: Corporate Communications and Public Affairs. • Corporate Social Investment- assessing and monitoring projects • Sponsorships –assessment of proposals, recommendations • Hospitality suite management for hosting stakeholder

Pros: • Friendly and good team-playing experience
Cons: long hours

Leadership on a burning platform

Life at Denel is characterized by leadership in the harshest environments. It is perhaps not unlike a voyage to Mars where not all the environmental parameters are known (or measurable) and the Marian population with who you are required to work is skittish, unpredictable and of low work ethic. There are of course the exceptional 20% that make the entire experience worthwhile, coupled with the thrill of the small (incremental) successes that make for job satisfaction that no "normal" environment can provide.

Denel

Good company. Bad financial position. Terrible management Management. Unfair appointments. Double standards. Honestly it’s a good company but without proper management who can behave in a professional manner and treat people like human beings, the company will not flourish. That’s excluding the unfair appointments, unfair treatment, and people with power getting away with murder.

Pros: Benefits when they not in financial distress, good leave policy
Cons: Some Executive management do not have the experience to be an executive yet are appointed. Poor management styles. Not a good working environment.

Projects learning experience

great to work in the company but there is no groth for young people. the structure is limitted make it impossible to dream and progress or grow careerse
