Great learning curve

Typical day: ensure that work is allocated to junior staff. Treat patients with a variety of conditions on a daily staff attend monthly departmental meetings, allied and institutional meetings as well. Good relationship with our staff, work includes mentoring, coaching. I enjoy interacting with other colleagues: doctors, nurses and patients most challenging aspects of the job: Increased work load, staff shortage

Good learning curve

Work: Senior Physiotherapist Duties:Educated patients and families on self-care / home-care and on ways to improve their conditions • Evaluated each patient on a regular basis to determine their progress • Suggested additional exercises or therapy sessions where needed • Created detailed records of patients’ information, progress and history in a confidential manner • Analysed assessment findings and modify treatment plans accordingly to ensure treatment efficacy Scheduled appointments with patients and ensured that follow up procedures were put in place Attended Departmental, multidisciplinary and institutional meetings monthly Good relationship with colleagues Variety of conditions: some are challenging

An eye opener and great pleasure working in the public sector

Currently working in the public sector at a hospital in Krugersdorp. Typical day involves treatment of patients on a daily basis, allocation of work to junior staff. Attend departmental monthly meetings, others: multidisciplinary meetings, monthly institutional meetings, prepare patients reports as and when required, submit monthly statistics reports . good relationship with other colleagues. Lessons learnt: Team work with other colleagues is essential. Enjoyed working in orthopaedic, surgical wards. Challenges: High workload, but plan your work in advance
