Excellent export experience

I oversee all the HR functions within the Company. I do have an payroll assistant working under my supervision as our payroll is large within 1500 employees (salaries only) We cover all the payroll functions on the VIP Premier payroll system. We also submit the monthly payments over to SARS Unemployment Skills Levies and Paye as you earn. I am responsible for the Skills Development and Health and Safety aspects too. I have learned in this environment to work with all culture groups which is very interesting and I have became an councillor within the company assisting them with personal problems (housing, medical etc) The biggest challenge in my job is to overseen fair working conditions within the workplace and being involved at each farm with the various workers as it differs from region to region. Also to deal with my Directors on Management level on a feedback daily basis.

Dealt with all different cultures

I am the HR and VIP Payroll Manager at a large agriculture Export company based in Little Falls. We are fortunate to work Flexihours due to seasonal operations (we export May to September) I oversee all the HR functions running 9 farms up from Mpumalanga District, Brits, Magaliesburg etc and have 1900 staff on VIP Payroll. I am responsible for the Skills Development, Training Recruitment and general day to day HR issues such as leave, compensation, Employment Equity stats etc. My days are extremely busy during the export season and we mostly work with semi skilled farm labourers. My relationship with all the staff is extremely good, professional though supportive. I am here for the general well being of the staff but also to care for the Company procedures and regulations.

Cons: Farm workers - semiskilled
