Good opportuntities to gain experience in Global environment

Working within the business, have developed sound business relationships with both Business and Shared services Daily interaction with employees and Line Management to ensure all HR operational needs are met Assist Business with all HR related matters to address varied employee issues Assist Business with effective and timeous resource Management Provide specific and accurate HRIS information Ensure successful onboarding of all new appointments Monitor compliance and implement all current and new HR policies and Most enjoy- ongoing liaison and engagement with both business and employees Challenging- ensuring effective resource levels are maintained to support business needs ( both recruitment and retrenchments)

Pros: Sufficient challenging opportunties to remain effective and active in the business
Cons: Relocation of company resulted in further travel to work ( approximately 50 kms one way)

A day in the life of Me...

Working hours, from 06:00 to 15:00. We had a "follow the sun model" as the company was global Now my day started by checking emails. I had rules to mark/flag/and move emails of high importance to specific folders, notify me of serious issues. SQL service that stopped, disk capacity issue, licensing issue needing attention I would then login into the ticketing system to pick up any tickets that needed urgent attention. By 08:00 everyone was at work and our team meeting would get underway, a brief 15/20 minutes to hand over from a previous region Continuing with SQL or PS scripts to perform some sort of work, routine maintenance, improving an aspect of a process to make the system work more efficiently The work ethic was fantastic, our entire office got along. We were all working towards a common goal, that of making our company profit. We were IT and needed to make sure the rest of the company were able to give their best to their client

Pros: There was always an opportunity to improve oneself, be it training, self study, or getting to know a work process better. There was always some sort of way for one to improve.
Cons: Yes, there were certain times of the month that one would have to work extra over-time hours. Example of this, the first Friday of each month was Microsoft updates, the next Friday was Software updates; and we would stay until the work was complete.

Structural Designer

Duties include but not limited to; coordination of concrete deliverables. Maintaining and updating of 3dmodels, generate drawings to company standards, mentor junior staff, and user support related to current CAD software.

Pros: Challenging and provides a lot of room for learning
Cons: Not all activities are monitored there for not a lot of recognition for efforts i.e renumeration

I adjust to change and challenge myself a lot, I am eager to learn and become the best I can be

I had a lot of exposure in Hatch, I worked on systems setup (mainly Bentley Software), as Lead of the P&ID group, testing new software to be introduced and had to give reports on the software components. As a business analyst I had to liaise with the business on their requirements for new software, I drafted the functional scope, domain model and user requirement documents.

Pros: I learned a lot, there is a lot of opportunity here
Cons: Drive to far to work every day

Individualized Experiences

Experience at the company is very individual specific and it all depends on what you get involved in. Being overworked is a possibility when you get involved on multiple project which often means long working hours

Great Leader skills

Start with a morning coffee, if there were urgent deliverable s i would follow up, otherwise go thru my emails and see what meetings are scheduled for the day and plan my day around them. Plan my two week look ahead every Monday by using the schedule and resource requirements. Have weekly reviews setup to mitigate risk and ensure we are on track. Communicate with lead engineers to ensure design is as per client requirements
