Good learning curve.

Typical work day starts at 0730. A lot of contracts to be processed and documents checked early morning.an hoir has to be dedicated to responding to the 200+ emails i receive daily from all over the world. Cross trades register, imports and exports schedules need to have ETAs updated daily. Bookings are done before 10am with various shipping lines for shipments from various ports. Local contacts need to be updated on the +-20 shipments we do in a week country wide. Invoices from various transporters have to be approved and demurrage charges explained before being submitted to accounts.SAD500 sheets are kept aside according to the banks requirements for audit purposes. Plant and port health inspections has to be booked a few days in advance before a xlient receivea their containers. Work ends between 2000hrs and 2100hrs.

Pros: I earn a salary.good exposure to the shipping industry.
Cons: Very long hours.no overtime or perks.very stressful environment.

Excellent learning curve

a typical work day is fast think on your feet being able to multytask assist other staff with they work answer calls and take messages do all the admin and filling aswel as book meeting arrange parking codes.liase with customers and suppliers handle couriers send and recieve samples and stock

Pros: good place to learn,great people
Cons: long working hours
