Working at the Home affairs Head Office for 2 years

I gain experience each and every day. Working at home affairs u work to asiste clients, different people from different background and thats the fun part because we get to interact with clients everyday and dts when we gain experience of how to treat clients and exercise the Batho Pele Principles. its a good working place with adequate resources in terms of human, assets as well as finance.Supervises my team mates on daily bases, checking their daily work flow, attending to administration matters. It was an exciting and yet a challenging position.

Pros: Great work exposure on all departmental opeations and working different sections
Cons: Working on saturdays

Internship

Working hours is 7-4, Small office with less than 30 employees. We treat each other with respect, we like one big family. Working at Home Affairs it is not easy as it seems but if you have the love if customer it will be easy. I learnt a a lot, how to treat customers and always put yourself under customer's shoes.

Pros: Great exposure
Cons: 7am - 4pm

Great experiance

Working at home affairs has opened up more about what to expect at work and not what to expect as a graduate. Being thrown to whaty you have not expexted and learn to work even though your mind is not at it but try to give it your best for your own good and recognition sat workplace. Co - workers are well and supportive more especially the executive. Like at any other work place there are those who feel threatend by younglinks as to they are there to get rid of them but innitially we are there to get experience and help them gorw where they lack at as it is the IT generation now. In a nut shel, i conclude. It has been experancial working in a diversitified environment.

Pros: knowing the depatment as a whole
Cons: its not what i applied for.

Challenging situation

Very reliable person, endure working under pressure. Hard worker,Jerk of all trade. What I like about home affairs there is no discrimination against disabled people. The level of working is flat. But now have worked there for 11 years at support and civic section I really need new pastures

Pros: Greener pastures
Cons: Rotation
