My new jobs has taught me alot interms of planining maneging and tolerating including safety

i have gain alot in the industry more aspecial working with different kind of people and culture the challenges i come across is long working hours were some times i have to work 19 hours in concecative to get the plant up and running but the good part is it doesnt allways happen more often and showing how committed you are coms with a reward of getting promotion and bonuses am now working as a technician were my level of experience has grown from one level to the other in terms of skills planing , maneging and ececution

Pros: i started working not expecting that my out put will make the company to invest in me bu giving me an oppotunity to lead the group of people
Cons: i manege to balance the long working hours some times i had to work more than 16 hours in a concecative to get the plant up and running

I'm a responsible, committed and discipline

I have learn that for me to know how to solve a problem or to to find fault I should prepare myself before work and keep calm, I was working at International Ferro Metals as assistance my duties was doing Isolation, Fault finding, replacing motors connecting and disconnecting 3 phase motors and single phase motors, inspecting and maintaining Transformers, motors,Pumps Conveyor belt, lights and sirens, joining cables. isolating 11 11kv, maintainance at MCC motor control centre,then the mine closed down and after completing my trade I got a job at City power as electrician under contract do calls fault find, restore power , replace fuse, joining the 120 mm cable in the chamber , join service cable 16× 4 core , fix the tempered meter box.

Pros: I always do work hard for everything that I'm doing
Cons: I don't mind working overtime, break down or shutdown

Learning curve

It was a great learning curve. Working under pressure to reach goals set by our team. Team work was critical. Learned to be independent. Saving costs by all means Learned to delegate. Had to be responsible for my work as we were viewed. KPI was critical

Excellent work force. they are always intrested in learning

Quite good. Learning everyday. Facing challenges and going through. My workday inclues training of employees on procedures. Generals industrial safety like permit to work ,risk assessment,lifting,working at heights and many more.

I was managing SANAS Accredited Laboratory for 9 Years before we were retrenched

I was managing SANAS Accredited Laboratory for 9 Years before we were retrenched. This included Quality control of raw materials being delivered , constant quality checks in process and recommend changed if needed. Final product analyses was used for pricing purposes. The most challenging aspect was the financial restrictions and time restrains v/s quality output of results.It is a fine balance to be kept. Rebuilding the team to perform optimum after first retrenchments was also a challenge.No customer complaints and a happy workforce left me content . The lab was a 24/7 operation.

Pros: Commissioning a plant was a great experience.I also learned a lot regarding the financial model of IFM
Cons: The company was sold and 700 employees was retrenched

Good experience

Production and personnel management. safety and legal compliance. Trouble shooting and metallurgical management. Standard operating procedures development and training of personnel. Shutdown and projects.

Pros: Good exporsure
Cons: constant pressure
