Excellent learning experience, but time to spread my wings.

I oversee 4 opencast operations, a workshop in Middelburg and transport operation. I have a dedicated team of 5 safety officers and a training facilitator that report to me. My team and I get along very well, they know what I expect from them and they deliver without hesitation. I travel between these sites on a daily basis, auditing systems and assisting with challenges the sites may encounter. Challenges at Isambane Mining are the competency levels of top management and the small business mentality, they do not understand the concept of technological systems to make life easier and more efficient. The GM is a stern believer in micro management, and makes decisions based on his emotions and his likes and dislikes in people. I enjoy making a difference, I have learned patience over the past 12 years, and how to effectively utilize the talent I have within my team to make me a stronger manager, as I am only as strong as my weakest link.

Pros: I get a company vehicle and diesel
Cons: Long working hours, been given duties that are other HOD's responsibilities that they cannot perform successfully, no consistency from top management,

Excellent in communication, administration and negotiations

All buying duties Managing 4 lady buyers Proxy Petty Cash Supplier / Vendor management BBBEE reporting / preferential procurement reporting Insurances Liaising with local communities for business opportunities

Pros: To produce the best service that I can give to the industry. Initiated the Procurement Department.
Cons: Very committed to my job and working long hours

Stable growing company

Good learning company lots of work.people are all good hard working.Parts are available with not to much hassel.The only thing they can focus on is training the peolpe.
