Building experience within the industry

As a external Customer advisor it is satisfying helping customers with their needs. I do work with a great team which have different departments. Being on the the road on a daily basis where my main goal is to open new accounts and to focus on building long term relationships. I do travel quite a bit and do alot of cold calling and follow ups. When on the road I have customer care which assists me with quotes when I am not able to respond at the time whether driving or visiting a customer which helps with speed of service should it be urgent.

Pros: Meeting new people everyday and building long term business relationships. Giving them a workwear solution and assisting with quality of life.
Cons: Being the only External Customer can be quite demanding when looking after the following towns which is Richards Bay, St-Lucia, Mtubatuba, Mandini, Monzi and Hluhluwe. So weekly planning is crucial but one can only cover so much in a week.

Reputable company that is the best in it's industry

Jonsson Workwear Depot is a world-class business, with systems and procedures that can compete with the rest of the world. Their business model, from manufacture right through to the direct end-user is revolutionary. A typical work day includes doing quotations, visiting potential customers and dropping off samples and cold calling. I have learnt how to sell at a higher level/bigger brand. I've also learnt a number of company procedures for international companies. I come from a small SMME, where there weren't many policies and business practices, so working for Jonsson Workwear Depot has shifted my mindset altogether. I particularly enjoy dealing with end-users. The most challenging aspects of the job include company expectation versus reality in the market, convincing buyers/HR controllers that quality far outweighs price.

Cons: Working on a Saturday, no motivation from management

Good experience

It’s a demaning job which requires you to put in the hours and you need to be dedicated. Not everyone is on the same wavelength but that comes with every job. The office environment is okay , it’s too segregated and working with stores gets frustrating at times.

Cons: No growth
