I used to be intmidated by all the men on site. Now I am very confident and comfortable.
I check emails, walk around the site to do a progress update for each unit, prepare payment certificates and move to the next site. I work in a very friendly environment where everyone knows about everyone's "business" and we eat together. I have learnt how to work and interact with people. I used to work in offices before and I find that people on site have a more "easy" approach to life than people at the office. I enjoy lunch hours and walking around site interacting with labourers and subcontractors. The most challenging aspect would be workload and deadlines. Also access to the units on site (to measure or do progress updates). Sometimes labourers don't stop chopping or cutting to make way for you to pass so you sometimes are at risk of getting hurt. I love working on site, especially different sites at one time. In this way I am not easily bored as the day becomes less predictable.
Pros: Very "chilled" culture
Cons: No financial growth and no training.

It's a rough journey
The key is brickwork. If your brickwork is square from the beginning that will save you a lot of time with all the next trades (Plastering, Ceiling, Tiling etc), hence saving cost, improving quality and good impact on the to the project schedule.
Pros: Great opportunity to learn & grow as a professional consultant.
Cons: Too many managerial positions, which often leads to loss of communication.
