Excellent experience and knowledge gained as a Candidate Attorney

My typical day includes attending court (various courts in Durban) in the morning for a specific application/civil matter. After court I attend to drafting of various applications/pleadings for Magistrates or High Court proceedings, drafting of bills of costs or statements of account to clients, corresponding with debtors and clients etc. I have a good relationship with all professional and administrative staff. I receive and provide assistance to all members of staff to the best of my ability. I have learnt how to draft legal documents, prepare and research legal matters, communicate more effectively with clients and debtors and how to argue adequately in court. I enjoy interacting with other attorneys, court work and preparing for opposed arguments. The most challenging part of the job is dealing with different types of people and personalities.

Excellent experience in specialised collections and civil procedure

A typical work day involves attending court (High Court and various Magistrates in Durban) for opposed and unopposed applications, drafting of pleadings and civil documents for motion proceedings, drafting bills of costs and statements to client, liasing with debtors, consulting with Counsel, indexing and paginating pleadings. I have a good relationship with my co-workers. I learnt how to draft legal documents, conduct proper legal research and how to prepare for legal argument.
