Wonderful working environment

A typical work day involves preparing financial statements and liaising with clients. I have a great relationship with my coworkers, we see each other outside of work and meet regularly with coworkers that have left the firm. I have learnt so much working with an amazing team performing engagements (audits, independent reviews, trust compilations, accounting officer reports), preparing tax computations and filing the returns as well as mastering the audit software (CaseWare) and honing in on my Excel skills since so much of what we do relies on it. I also learnt about consolidations, corporate restructure and dealing with CGT. I enjoy the analytical challenge that each engagement brings, I enjoy pushing myself beyond what I think I'm capable of. The most challenging part is of course the deadlines but I have never missed one :)

Pros: Wonderful place to learn and grow
Cons: Salary plateaus and is generally low

Working at Luiz and Associates

My work days are never typicall. I njoy the challenge from winning a dispute with sars. I enjoy learning and acquiring new skills. Assisting the bookkeeping team where necessary. I like the fact that we a keeping team oriented environment. I ah learnt a lot from everyone at the firm . I enjoy that I cam approach anyone in the company for help or clarity with a subject that is out of my jurisdiction I.e audits and bookkeeping. Most challenging especially for me is the dispute processes with sars as I enjoy the research involved in each case. g I the

Cons: Long working hours as most weekends are worked int o catch up on work

Broadened capabilities

Working as a Junior Auditor, I have learned how to work efficiently and effectively throughout audits on our clients and had learnt alot about accounting and administrative duties along the way. I worked on 5-6 audits a week and weekly visits to clients, I built great relationships with staff and unbiased relationships with clients to make my job easier. The most important thing I have learnt in my work was the ability to handle disgruntled clients when they where called out on haphazard handling of documentation

Excellent working environment

Stable and efficient working environment. Always enhancing employees skills and experience. Staff are constantly motivated through employee incentive schemes. Colleagues are extremely helpful. Some clients are very demanding in this industry as everything is deadline driven. However, a healthy work environment makes it easier to meet deadlines timeously.

Cons: Deadlines are stressful
