The Korean factor

Caught between a rock and a hard place. Partly Korean executive. CEO is Korean. Try to implement Korean culture and discipline. Very particular about petty/small/not so important things. Reports directly to the CEO. Not much in the way of praising good/positive things. Very sarcastic and critical about anything, even though it is not even true, or have nothing to do with you. Very stressful to work for this company, no job satisfaction, no goals. Most challenging aspect is to try and keep my line manager happy (CEO) or just to supply info to keep out of trouble. We are currently being outsourced (the dispatch department) and this starts on 01 January 2018. Been looking for alternatives, but other jobs very rare. CEO is more worried about his own K.P.I.'s than anything else, and is also dishonest about the way he is trying to achieve this. In general, no problem with co-workers.

Pros: not much
Cons: As described in the review. Will not recommend working for this company

Excellent opportunity for learning and growth

Commensurate to the role and contributes just under R3bn to bottom-line. Leads a cross-functional team of Ops, Scm and Distribution amongst others. Introduced a customer-centric culture and impressed on stretched targets for all team members. Repositioned the company as the preferred supplier of Power and Telecommunications solutions.

Pros: A fast-paced growing organization
Cons: Limited scope and responsibilities
