Great platform to develop entrepreneurial skills, excellent work ethic

Mango has a culture of "Hard work consistently, to achieve positive results." As a low cost carrier , operating at a very low cost base throughout the organization is an area of conscious focus for everyone in the organization, at all levels. Whilst working hard is the culture at Mango, as colleagues we tend to support each and as such break silos for greater integration between departments. The industry in which Mango operates is fiercely competitive, driven by price sensitive consumers. Market share between the handful of low cost carriers that exist in South Africa is a constant battle...the market of air travelers is not growing as rapidly as the number of carriers being introduced...these are just some of the challenges. Overall though , it is exciting to work with highly driven people and it is surely exciting to work in an industry that demonstrates that the world is global village as any destination is just a flight away....

My love for the aviation industry

My love for the aviation industry has always been strong. I love learning new things. I am a hard worker fast learner who is willing to relocate. I'm always willing to work shifts weekends and public holidays. I would to work my way up in the company. And I want to face new challenges

Pros: Loved working woth people. Great customer service. Loved the environment

Work Culture

epend on systems availability. It directly impacts my current job and is performance based. flights depend on your information. On Time Performance and Customer service is of the utmost importance for Mango. Access to systems and system uptime are the most important part of my job as flights and A typical work day consists of starting at 06:30 in the morning and assisting with very time sensitive issues. Every task that is performed is time crucil as departing flights depend on your information. On Time Performance and Customer service is of the utmost importance for Mango. Access to systems and system uptime are the most important part of my job as flights and revenue depend on systems availability. Excellent learning curve

My day begins with checking that all staff are present at work and in their allocated working arreas timeously. Carry out my checks as per the SOP Monitor overral operation and attend to any queries that arise whilst interacting with subordinates. I have learnt that each day is unpredictable which makes it positively challenging. I enjoy interacting with co workers and having to assist resolving any problems they come across. I also use that as a tool to educate them on how they could resolve and deal with similar situations in future. Challenges would be irregular opeations when flights are not on schedule.

It has been a great experience

A typical day includes working with guests and assisting guests with making bookings changes and queries. Checking in guests as well as assisting with boarding. My co-workers and I have a great relationship and work well in a team especially when there are delays. I enjoy working with people and the nice part of my job is getting to meet people from all over the world..

Great experience

Hours are ridiculous. Can work up to 21 hours. They send a clear message that they don't care about you. Crew don't stand up for each other. Everyone is pushing each other down. To get to where they are. The only thing I enjoyed was working with passengers .

Excellent learning curve

I am currently employed with mango airlines as a Senior cabin crew member, I have an Nqf level 6 certificate in Safety management and Samtrac certificate, I would like to gain experience in the safety industry and I hope that I will get an opportunity to grow within your company.

Hard worker will to learn all the time

Normal day is making booking for guest, do guest care like refunds incorrect bookings and errors that was made, make sure guest are checked in and boards the correct flight sort out lost luggage and give feedback to guest Was back up supervisor making sure staff clocks on time make sure they friendly and effective in help our guest, do administration

Pros: Great opportunity to show my skills
Cons: 8 hours but also if operations allow me to go home
