• Deductive Reasoning: I am able to look for problems in complicated electrical grids, isolate the issue and solve it. • Logic: I am able to look at electrical blueprints and scan them for issues, making sure that they work before installed. • Manual Dexterity: Working with wires, using hand tools and handling small components requires manual dexterity. • Math: Math is needed to analyze and create schematics. • Observation: I am able to look at electrical grids and evaluate them for any problems, to make sure they are being installed correctly. • Problem-Solving: I am able to identify issues and make corrective measures to fix problems with electrical components • Train and guide other electricians in order to get the job done – first time • PLC exposure • HACCP compliance • Order spares using e-buy and SAP • Create order numbers • Stand in if shifts are not covered • Maintenance standby • Permanent standby

EXCELLENT IN PEOPLE'S HEALTH

At Mars Africa we were working as a team,there was no dicrimination to any other workers we were all understanding everybody's behaviour because during the time of induction they thought us how to deal with different people and taking care of each other. we treated everybody as family. according to the work hours we were working normal hours like 8 hours per day and there is also different shifts.i learnt a lot there at first i was a shy person and i didn't like to work nightshifts but because of people i was working with i ended up like that shift.i enjoy to work there because there was lot of freedom and if you have a problem there were people who can help you and going out during festive season we use to have some event on holidays like world aids day heritage day we use to celebrate those days.most challenging aspects were iif the due dates of our orders are nearly we had to push hard to reach that date and make that targert

Working at Mars

A typical work day involves preparing for the communication which needs to go out throughout the day, this includes the TV screens, PC pop-up screens, emails and any newsletters. My relationships with my co-workers is direct, friendly, collaborative I'm continuously learning in my role, whether its the financial aspects of the business, understanding how supply chain works and their challenges so I can assist with solutions for them during crisis. What I enjoy the most are the monthly staff meeting which I arrange. We often have product launches with these and they provide great excitement for staff and its a great engagement tool The most challenging aspects are dealing with rigidity where some people prefer doing things the old way and feel rattled by new ideas.

Pros: Flat structure, little bueracrcy, team working environment
Cons: Currently there's little opportunity for growth

Semi skilled

I am working with skilled people. People who knows and understand their responsibility on site and we respect our duties. We work along very much like brothers because we share common responsibilities we guide one another if one doesn't understand.

Excellent learning curve

During my work I got a lot of new skills. Would recommend this employer. An excellent place to work with career opportunities. At work there is everything you need (personal protective equipment, overalls, tools, etc.)

Good company with good values, family owned business, watch out for becoming to corperate

Good company to work for with huge potential in SA. Although career development is slightly low in SA, there are hughe opportunities to develop abroad as Mars is very big outside of SA in Europe and USA. Company has some good values and generally try and make the correct decisions. The company has a relaxed open plan office environment and they allow you to work from home in case of emergencies. Open plan office does take some time to get use to.

Cons: Still in infant stage, gone through re-structure
