Production geologist and coal processing superintendent

Mduduzi s primary role includes the whole process of coal crushing, screening and stockpiling as well as to ensure the efficient use of machinery like front end loaders as well as the management of plant operators. WE have a good team work with all the plant personnel. Being involved in a coal processing taught me about how the bud. How budget is derived and managed and how to mange people. However managing people has been the most challenging part as this is the politic driven area.

Cons: being in a phone call out 24/7

Challenges with my new job

start at 7-16h30, working as a manger to 4 analytical chemistry personnel and one geologist who then supervise 40 people in total . I have learnt that my main duty in this operation is risk management and to protect the company from the authorities. I enjoy working under my current manager he is sharp minded and always passionate to teach people

Pros: Exposure to do most of the jobs that in big corporates would have been done by the geology manger
Cons: Structure of the company when it coms to development of employees does not suit my own desired goals as a geologist
