Metal Industries Benefit Fund Administrators Reviews

Ideal for entry phase

A day at my current company is quite busy year-in year -out, with my co-workers we have became a family of some sort since we spend the most time together during the week, we tackle tasks of understand stands and procedures that are either questionable. I have learnt a lot about the investment, insurance and pension and provident fund acts and their rule I picked up that it help to save and invest in long term and I also understand the risk that are within the market and how the economic ratings can assist one in making better financial decisions. What I enjoy the most at my company is that they pressure an individual that correct manner they create sekf acknowledgement in the performance, strategic and tactical planning.its like they give work and you willing to make it your own and once you have that mentality a room for error is minimum, the challenge I believe would be room for growth within the company especially your managerial posts .

Pros: Get place to get educational funding
Cons: No growth

Excellent learning and got the opportunity to be part of management which has taught me a lot

My day would start of with checking staff stats of the previous day and recording the stats. Second I would check the register to check if there was anyone that has come late. My relationship was excellent with the staff and my team. I learnt how to work with a big team how to motivate and coach the staff, I learnt that staff issues are confidential. I enjoyed working with the call centre staff they were vibrant and alive we had a very good working relationship and mutual respect for each other. The most changeling was when I started in the call centre as a Team leader I was used to managing a team of 5 staff in the call centre there are a max of 25 specially when it came to staff, I managed to put the group in teams and this made it easier for me. My name is Michelle Laurence

Pros: Great to work in management
Cons: Have to work weekends and sometime public holidays to make sure work is up to date

I am a good and a fast learner.

I am a motivated middle - age black lady, a strategic thinker with great problem analysis and solving skills. I have good interpersonal communication skills that I have acquired through my involvement with general public. These skills have been mastered through development stages of my career as a student, and a team member. My exposure and appreciation in the insurance and other industrial areas have added more interest in my career to be much involved in training. I am continuously striving to improve all necessary Leadership Qualities that I believe are important like; Vision, Integrity, Dedication, Humility, Openness, Creativity, Fairness, Assertiveness, Sense of humor and many other important elements.

Pros: Opportunity for growth
Cons: willing to work long hours

Excellent learning curve

Good company, but it doesn't attend to the issues of its workers. Worker complaints and issues should be handled and resolved in a professional manner and workers should be be respected and treated with respect by other employees.

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion
Cons: Long working hours

Adapt easily and always prepared to learn new things.

My day is always hectic. I start my day by checking e-mails from my boss and respond immediately. I then check out tax basket for taxes directives that are back and send them to payments department before 07h30. From there I check my team e-mail to assist and add memoes once that is done then I go to everyone e-mails and attend to them in date order from the oldest to the newest. I also check my team's error basket to see what errors are they making, from there I will either assist or coach.

Pros: I started working as a reception with the intention to growing the company and that's what happened. I was promoted to call centre agent, death claim administrator, death claims team leader and eventually a Supervisor.
Cons: I'm always willing to go an extra mile.

Constantly busy with constant procedure changes.

A typical work day is get to work and work... everyday is a new change and constantly busy. Colleagues are friendly and all get along however talking in our department is frowned upon

Pros: Great learning opportunities
Cons: No room for growth or promotion

Good for first time employees

Company has too many petty rules, salary is fair but working environment is very poor. Incoming work is based mainly on retrenchments in the industry, most of the year there is very little work to keep you busy the entire working day. Very structured company, great for first time job seekers

Pros: Great for growth, company has a high staff turnover
Cons: Treats employees like children, too structured.

I was given the opportunity to work in various departments

I worked 7 and a half hours; the work load was immense but bearable because I learned a lot during my time there. The biggest challenge I faced was working with external parties such as the Department of Home Affairs, meaning targets were not always met.

Pros: Opportunity for growth is there but limited
Cons: Low income

Excellent work environment

curveA typical day involves getting to work dealing with email queries while also handling and assisting with telephonic queries.opening and dealing with new claims accurately assessing processing and payment of claims. Requesting of documents from companies or brokers for claims that have outstanding documents. Team environment but with the ability of working independently .ability to pay attention to detail and ability to pay attention to details. Team spirit makes it easier to handle stress and accurately get through big projects by assisting and keeping each others spirits uplifted. Having to deal with clients who dont want to adhere to the rules if the fund and dont want to submit the documents requested.

Pros: Great benefits
Cons: No overtime
