Unclaimed Benefit Consultant

Unclaimed Benefit consultant working at Metropolitan - Basically I on a daily basis trace clients who either is not aware they qualify for a claim or there claim might be outstanding. Death claims currently I am working on a project of +- R30 000000.00. We have a very positive team a skilled team and one would say we like family my day starts at 07:30 and ends at 15:30. I work the moment I log on I am looking for something new to upgrade my skills and knowledge. The main reason for me looking for other employment is purely based on the fact that I stay in the Southern Suburbs but my work place is in the Northern and travelling becomes rather costly

Pros: Knowledge of claims , Family enviroment , Team Work is great , the fact that once you trace clients you make can actually feel how they appreciate the fact that they receiving money there were not expecting , medical aid , the pay is good can be better but reasonable , the hours are great
Cons: Hardly get leave alwasy busy

To work extensive hours and travelling is rewarding and build passion with clients

I want to be considered for this challenging position because i have worked in the financial industry for a few years in a similar role, my role was very productive, client service orientated, outstanding customer support and service was one of my key functions as well as the ability to solve client queries and have the passion to help clients . is very rewarding, any also retaining a good client base, and building revenue for the company.

Pros: employee recognition .development and training
Cons: ability to get overwhelmed by people who misunderstand the importance of deadlines

Excellent learning curve

The 3 years I have worked in the company has helped me a lot to be able to work as a team. Working with a big number of people and deferent back ground and culture has help me a lot to understand deferent people and taught me other languages. The relationship I have with my co workers is very good, as I ask them when I don't know something and I am able to pass the experience I have to the newly employed. There are some challenges like the client would come and shout about being given the wrong type of policy he/she did not want by some the consultants, maybe because the consultant did not do a proper needs analysis or misinterpreted what the client wants. So in this instance you need to take the full blame as you try to assist the client, apologies and rectify the mistake.

Pros: Promotions and gifts as motivations
Cons: longer working hours

I still need to learn more and have expirience in the banking sector.

it is very hard to look for clients and convince them to join your company insurance policy. it is a good learning curve as you deal with difficult people on a daily basic and in that instance you have to know how to deal with an angry client. people will cross question you about your product and why you think is the best one. sometimes you will go out there you wont be able to find a single client which will affect your day, but I don't let challenges like this to stand in my way I know tomorrow is another day I have to be positive. I work well with my co-worker I also enjoy working in a positive team or winning team . the most challenging thing about my job is when you don't get clients your salary for that month wont look good. so you have to know that if you don't perfume good this will affect your team and your management that is why I learn to work hard and stay positive in life.

Pros: its hard to tell but as a hard worker i aim to be a manager or team leader one day.
Cons: i work unsupervised which add a lot of prejure and i dont work lot of hours.

Great working

As per my job description as Sales Consultant that walks almost the whole doing door to door looking for clients, it is a great job if you are a person of loving to work outside doors but also challenging when you have to ask for few minutes of the people's time as they are working and I need to speak to them with regards to what i am offering them. Nice thing is that you get to work with people and you get to meet different people with different attitudes towards you. but that you have to get used to it.

Pros: Challenging opportunity interms of if you are not good with people
Cons: its flexible hours

The best experience ever

My job was basically the same thing every day handling different kinds of clients all day long but it was fun as i have learnt quiet a lot about handling different kinds of people i speak manly of my job at african bank because that is the job i have done for the longest period and my colleagues and i were more like family .

Pros: there isnt really much to tell as it was the same thing everyday handling queries and processing loans that just about it
Cons: long hours that were not even considered as over time because the branch closes at 12 on saturday but if there were still clients inside the branch the was no knocking off but i got used to it and started embracing it as it was my bread and butter .

I'm a fast learner

Working for an insurance company is very challenging and sometimes exciting and fun especially if you are reaching targets everyday. Sometimes you feel very stressed when people show no interest in what you selling because they get bored in hearing about funeral plans and so forth so it's very difficult to work at an insurance company. My relationship with the co-workers wasn't very pleasant because everyone would fight to get that 2cases per day so it was like you are in a competitive at work, I have learnt alot, I learnt how to be independent and push myself to the limit worked long hours to reach the target that I'm given even on weekends there was no rest.

Pros: I never had the opportunity to be promoted how ever you would be promoted depending on how you work within the company but that does not happen often because there were plenty old advisors that are very good at what they do but still haven't been promoted.
Cons: We didn't have time to clock in and out but you must make sure you do not sleep without submitting what is expected of you.
