My Review

Good day, I am currently employed at Mhlathuze Water as a Accounts Receivables Administrator. I have served 18 years at the organisation. I have vast knowledge and experience in collections, handling of debtors, administering accounts, reconciliations of control accounts and require little or no supervision. I can work well independently and even in a group, my co-workers can testify to this. The organisation has taught me to be pro-active and to always go the extra mile. I enjoy customer interaction as my current job requires this. One of the most challenging aspects of my job is dealing with difficult customers. But my training in debt collection has equipped me to deal with the various types of people I come into contact with. I am able to always meet deadlines with the support and help from my supervisors and co-workers. Your consideration would be appreciated. Thanks.

A day at work

Assist in all departments regardless of your job title or level. Required to work at the drop of a hat and to work beyond the normal eight hours a day. One has to be available to work during holidays and weekends if requested to do so by the CFO and CEO. I have learnt that in order for you not to be taken advantage of and exploited you need to stand up for your self and not have any remorse about it as no one cares about you as an individual. My job has taught me to take responsibility and accountability for what I do. It has taught me to be pro active and to be time conscientious. I enjoy liaising with customers and it gives me great pleasure when I am able to resolve queries and problems they might have. The most challenging aspect of my job is not having a supervisor or manager that can direct and lead you.

New and exciting opportunities.

The employers at Mhlathuze water are a delight to work work with. . The service providers also willing to give they best foot when it come to protects and opportunities afforded to them. The procurement team is a hard working and effective bunch. The organisation has thought me a lot about technical specifications and procurement of it.

Nothing is Black and White to some!

I enjoy an environment where logic is the order of the day. A place where the primary relationship among employees is WORK. A non-toxic environment where work is the order of the day and not gossip, positional power and pure intimidation! Unfortunately that is the situation I find myself in right now and it is becoming harder and harder just to breathe!!!!

Pros: Company has huge potential for growth but...
Cons: Lacks the necessary execution and application!

I learnt a lot in attending Mhlathuzes top meetings, how to behave, which language to use.

Working for Mhlathuze water has been mind opening, they gave me a platform and exposure for working with big companies. They taught me how to behave in a meeting and what languages to use. I am now a compatible employee because of them. The employees there have a good team spirit and very professional even when solving conflicts.

Pros: got an opportunity to work next to a safety officer, and did well with meetings minutes and report writting.
Cons: dealing with difficult patients.

Excellent learning curve

Calculate and deduct appropriate amounts feom payroll checks Verify all overtime hours Oversee internal payroll and accounting audit Manage payroll administrator Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality I have learnt to give career guidance to my co worker I enjoy working with figures and mostly when its challenging matters The rewarding aspects of the job is when everyone wants to be paid correctly and on time . It is rearding to provide such service to employees each month They payroll role is demanding which is why it is so important to prioritise your work and be as organised and efficient as possible

Pros: Good employment opportunity. Strong emphasis on team work
Cons: Work is often fast paced with tight deadlines. Its a classic desk job without much opportunity to move around

Performing internal audit from planning to reporting

Managing consultants in execution of annual internal audit plan. Performing investigations were fraud is suspected. Performing any adhoc reviews as requested by the client's. Ongoing monitoring of the action plans as put by management Providing advice to management when they require it

Pros: I like to be exposed in new thing and to gain experience on an ongoing basic
Cons: Working under pressure and deliver on time on the given assignment
