A typical day at work entails : - work through emails form clients and SARS - Book time on caseware time of how much time was spend on what client - Follow up with SARS should VAT audits, Income tax refunds not been completed in the prescribed time frame. - Compare ITA34 issued by SARS with our tax calculation done. Should there be a difference, identify what the difference is and take necessary steps to correct if necessary. -Correspondence with SARS - accounts of clients. Payments not being allocated correctly. - Meeting with clients to discuss income tax, VAT, PAYE or income tax (for Trust) registrations. - Review of payslips, VAT reconciliation, EMP 501 reconciliation of trainees. - Review of income tax calculations for individuals and returns on SARS completed form the trainees.

This position I held was a good opportunity to learn.

I really loved my company. I learnt a lot, more than my job description. I loved the environment, we had so much fun. I had the ability to learn and be myself. We had study leave which helped a lot. The relationships we built was incredible. I learnt about auditing, taxation, filing, VAT, PAYE, deferred tax, individual tax, how to submit a IT14SD, how to draw up financial statements and accounting. I learns how to treat different people in different industries. What I enjoyed the most is al the new things I've learnt, I also enjoyed the work load of work. Thid was challenging and that made it worth while because I like a challenge. The most challenges part of my job was to work full time and studing part time.

Cons: Not always being able to have enough work to do.

Greats opportnity to learn

I have a bcom accounting degree from the university of Johannesburg, advanced diploma in accounting sciences . i completed saica articles with middel and partners. during the years i served as a trainee accountant, i gained experience in accounting, tax and auditing.

Cons: having to work long hours
