Eye-opening

My experience was an eye-opening one. I knew corporate was tough but its also complicated and sort of like playing a game of chess. I was very naive walking in but walking out I had matured a great deal. I had learnt a great deal much being of my own efforts rather than being trained. I loved my job and the contribution I made to the company on a daily basis and especially in times of crisis. My ability to plan execute and deliver did not go unnoticed however my salary stayed the same. My relationship with my co-workers was excellent. From the tea lady to the CEO I was able to engage on all levels, thanks to my ability to adapt in situations. The most challenging part of the job was having to deal with many chiefs and little indians.

Pros: Great colleagues to work with, good amount of pressure, built my work ethic , pushed me to find ways to better systems, individual efforts recognised
Cons: too many chiefs, salary not always paid on time, never got to leave early on fridays even though we had already prepared for the following week sufficiently, no promotions, salary stayed the same

Great learning experience

Typical day is 24/7 working on standby in the field on the MTN and Vodacom towers fault finding ,installations,Decommissioning,doing preventative maintenance on the systems quality checks on new builds working a heights drive all over. Relationship with co workers are good we are only 2 in a team you really get to know a person this way i have learnt alot in this industry, Fire fighting First Aid Rescue fall arrest rope rigging Fibre splicing configuring System .MTN,Vodacom,Huawei,Ericsson. the most challenging part of this company is working 24/7 365

RAN AND TRANSMISSION TECHNICIAN

Ran and Transmission Assistant Technician MOBAX SA Ltd, 2018 – Till current My role is to assist on maintaining sites and or network on Vodacom Project. If the site or network fails on BTS or Transmission we would troubleshoot and fix it immediately. We also order spares if needed to fix a failing site. We basically maintaining almost everything on site, things such as air-cons, BTS, SAM units, TX cabs and Microwave links. Realignment of microwave antennas and quality checks on RF installations, replacement of connectors, feeders, TMAs, Tripplexers and Radios.

Pros: Willing to learn and to be independend
Cons: Working standby every two weeks in a month
