No two days for a journalist are ever the same. I do story fact-checking, interviews, proof-reading , editing and rewriting. To maintain relationships with co-workers and subordinates we have in-depth conversations with about what stories are current and unusual. This could involve staying on top of political, financial and social developments, or researching celebrity and human interest stories. To find stories I attend press conferences, hold interviews over the phone, trawl through professional contacts Journalism has taught me creativity to come up with my own content, generating ideas and the means of realizing them. I have also learnt social acumen. The most challenging part about my job is not being able to participate in marches and protests and not being able to advocate for what I believe in is extremely difficult for someone whose job is to inform the public about news, without having a biased opinion.
Pros: Great opportunity to meet people.
Cons: Long hours and low pay.

Innovative company
I head a number of journalists. I assign, brief, debrief, re-write and do KPA's We are such a close-knit newsroom and the working relations are manageable most of the time. I have learnt to stretch myself, challenge my mind and be an example to those I lead. I enjoy composing and re-writing stories and helping out in organising the publication's events. Managing a newsroom with small resources is very challenging
Pros: Relaxed working enviroment
Cons: No resources
