Excellent learning curve

It was inspiring and also challenging as I learned new things, it was in the health industry which was a bit different from my previous experience. But It was nice working there even though at last it was painful as we got retrenched because of funds and we ended up going home without any compensation.

Excellent learning curve

Reception is a very busy are, doing patient admissions, patient stickers etc.... working hand in hand with co-workers for smooth running of the reception. Learnt to deal with customers people with different attitude and how to managing staff and handling conflict. I enjoy most calling for authorizations and doing paper work(admin). The most challenging thing is admitting someone with lower plan medical scheme, you call the medical aid for authorization then you are told to tell the doctor to discharge the patient because there are no funds, you tell the doctor and he tells you to try again until you get help from case managers.

Pros: great opportunity for promotion
Cons: convinient
