Interview facilitation , liaising with Org Development to evaluate new jobs or changes on org structures, update meetings with senior management within the departments I service, weekly poor performance meetings I have strong relationships with my colleagues and business units as I am diplomatic yet persuasive and people know that their requests will be carried out timeously and efficiently. I'm learning new ways of working and best practice everyday. I enjoy hiring the right people with the right skills for my vacancies. I like to see improvements in my poor performers Top management expect quick results but don't give us the proper tools and support or allow us the leeway we need to get some tasks done.

More exposure

I am working with 4 team members which is what enjoy mostly.I am currently working as a Finance Administrator at MTN Group at Period end close department. I process all the journals that are coming from Account Payables and Account Receivables. I post them to trial balance after.

Pros: Effective communication as we always work with outside country collegues
Cons: Unchallenging work

I am highly interested in the role as i am suitably qualified and experienced as required.

MTN is a leading Telecommunications Company in the African and Asian Markets. The company has existed for 23 years and has matured and grown into African and Asian Markets. The company Head Office is both in Johannesburg and Dubai. We currently operate in 21 different countries in Africa and Middle East. The focus of my company is the developing markets with a lot of under banked population. The core business of my company is Cellular Network.

Pros: Interact with different people from different countries. There is a huge diversified workforce which need to be uniquely catered for by HR Service Delivery Hub. Since we service various markets, therefore the time zone differences require flexible working hours.
Cons: Long working hours not always work well with low level staff.

Great exposure to provide standardised Oprational and Transactional Service to diverse Talent.

I head various End to End HR function within various teams and virtual teams. Responsible for stakeholder partnership engagements with various streams e.g. IT, Business Unit Heads, Business Cluster Heads and Head of HR for each country that we support. Responsible for in depth HR System capability testing, analysis and optimisation. Responsible for HR Data Intergrity.

Pros: interact with multi cultural and mutinational workforce
Cons: complex working hours due to different time zones of the operating countries which we support and provide service to.

Great dynamic environment and learning culture

Unstructured, ambiguous work day Lot of stakeholder daily engagements Great culture, full of young vibrant individuals and management. Learnt a lot in terms of project management, the principles of migrating an operating company to a shred services environment. Leant tax, legislations of other countries within MTN. Enjoy the rich developmental programmes provided. Challenging aspect is ambiguity and opportunity for promotions.

Pros: Great organisational culture and development programmes
Cons: Unfair remuneration and poor recognition for good performamnce by management.

Typical work day is full of stakeholder engagements, reporting, administration and problem solving. Have learnt to apply the lean six sigma DMAIC methodology on projects and executing then to completion. As well as great data analytics and reporting for HR. I have learnt to manage employee data using ERP Oracle system, recruitment and applying Org design principles.

Pros: great environment for learning
Cons: Poor opportunities for growth and poor remuneration.

Very broad experience achieved, working with all stakeholders in the company.

Working for MTN is very exciting as they have a flexi hour work schedule, and KPIs are clearly defined and achievable, You meet new interesting people most of the time and there is always room to learn every day. Employees are very friendly here and have one goal in common which is to provide the best Customer Experience to its subscribers. I enjoy the open floor structure which influence collaboration between different levels of employees. The most challenge in the job was working long hours, but with time i got to enjoy it as this improved my KPI and closing critical issue within Deadlines.
