Excellent leader and a hard worker
A typical work day - Read emails and ensure that what is required by head office or stakeholders is provided. -Maintain relationship with stakeholders -Manage budget and operational process Relationship with co-workers - I am a go to person most of the time, easy to talk to -everyone knows that when work has to be done i do not want any excuses What I have learnt - for a good leader you have to be diverse and know most cultures in that way you will understand your co-workers -it is important to know all aspect of the business not just stick to engineering principles because that will limit you What I enjoy most -Flexible hours as a manager Most challenging aspects in my job - working under tight or no budget at all

Great and Dynamic working environment.
A typical day at work includes lots of reading on railway policies, process, and procedures. On a good day you get to travel the country and visit sites where you must inspect the working conditions. The coworkers within the organizations do their best to make it as warm an environment as any. I have leant the impact poor leadership has on an organization, its employees and the importance of maintaining good employee work morale. In the beginning I enjoyed the traveling the most but now I hunger for growth as I am still young and need to have ambitions related to my work. The most challenging aspect of this job is the idea of being the best of both worlds, we are not placed within a single department with a streamline function instead we are in between departments and part take in all kinds of activities. It is excellent for skills development but terrible for mastering anything.
Pros: Prestige.
Cons: Unstable work environment.

An excellent exposure and learning experience with a fair amount of challenges
The typical environment in which I work at the RAILWAY SAFETY REGULATOR involves extensive interaction with various business units at the RSR. This includes participating actively at EXCO and Senior Executives meetings providing advise on all labour related matters and dispute management and resolution. Most of my time is spent on developing policies and procedures and raising awareness with workers and management. Further to that will be an extensive stakeholder management ensuring a smooth flow of information sharing and consultation. Strategic involvement in decision making processes is also my competecy which desires a lot of work on research and development, whilst providing oversight on all dispute management processes.
Pros: great management responsibility
Cons: stress levels very high

Excellent learning curve
The RSR is a great company to work for. There are lot of opportunities for growth and development especially when you are starting a career. It is a young organisation in terms of workforce age as well as existent. The relationship with colleagues is very great, its a homely environment and employees live the values of the organisation. There are no issues of bureaucracy and at times learning is through the hard way by being put in the deep end. There is a lot of pressure that affect one's wellness due to unrealistic deadlines.
Pros: Great opportunity for growth
Cons: Long working hours
