Dionwired

Typical retail environment where I work with customers on a commission base. Taking a sale always feels good and enjoyable. Everything is as one would expect. The customer is your boss. Different people from all works of life all working together on a team base to achieve the ultimate goal (budget). The store hardly made daily budgets and the long hours of work are not beneficial.There are no promotion opportunities though, and this December has not been productive at all.

Well spoken and energetic man

I am a young well spoken energetic person with lots of sales experience in the technical field with audio visual and major appliances I also conducted a area manager part for air conditioning in the Durban area I pride myself to to do the best I can do and prove that I am a asset to the company

Most challenging aspects of the Job

80%of customers that come to buy at the store they aay they dont have any idea that there is an extended warranty at Game so they dont take it because of they dont have money for it

Good Experience

Hi. It's a good place to work in since we are under Walmart I'm based in a game store u do have days were its quiet and days when its worth it. We get to meet different customers everyday its a good environment u learn to adapt and it helps u with ur communication skills

Enough to take care of your expenses

The company does not pay a basic salary,the hours are abit long and you are not being paid for them..You deal with a big customer range and you're selling a piece of paper which might or might not work in the furtuer.Convncing customers is never easy because they cant see what yiu are selling and will never unless they use ut in futur

Turning things around

I have always prided myself by putting the customers needs first . Once a customer who couldn't find his way around the store . I just walked with him talked showed him around . He turned out to be from south coast ended up spending more than 20 k . Customer tend to show appreciation when you show the initiative.. I have always had good relationship with my co workers and always worked hand in hand . In the sales industry it all about building relationships and maintaining it .

Pros: Constantly meeting new people ,learning new things everyday
Cons: Working mall times and being in retail busiest times are holiday periods
