Typical day was very much routine, with the exception for urgent meetings and unforeseen challenges, I got along with subordinates, peers as well as superiors very well, The most important thing I have learnt during my 16 years with my employer was the importance of teamwork, synergy and focussing on the bigger picture, What i loved most about my positions and career in leadership and management was the ability to share knowledge, mentor and coach subordinates and seeing those subordinates making their ways up the corporate ladder, The most challenging part of my job has always been the fact that i have always been the leader, supervisor and manager of an older generation
Pros: Showing potential has ensured continuous advancement in my career
Cons: Once you reach the ceiling in your career, work becomes mundane ad it is as if noone is interested in grooming you for and availing opportunities for advancement

Learning lot of things
I did learn lot of things like developing windscreen from scratch from cutting to bending process until final line .The problem is development issue they develop workers we just one job until retirement no promotion.The people that do lot job they little money we don't afford to buy houses and we don't qualify to get rdp.
Pros: No promotion,promotion get by certain people
Cons: We don't work long hours we just work for 8hrs

I would like to use my knowledge I have over the past 20 years to help & grow a "new" organization
Very exciting. Even though each depart has there own Managers, Teal leaders, Technician, we all understand each others department. We usually sit in all meetings giving our inputs into problem solving or ideas on how to solve problems. We all have a very healthy & strong bond that we have built over the years. It is never a dull moment working in the automotive industry, from customer problems to customer recognition to supplier problems & recognition as well. I travel allot to our other sites in Port Elizabeth & Garankuwa. I was the Quality Technician & now for the past +3 years I am the New Part Development & Process Co-Ordinator. This allows me to understand all facets with my organization. Coming from the Quality back ground it really thought me how to handle & work with different people & at different levels within my organization as well as Customers & Suppliers.
Pros: Always thinking about the work force. Always sharing as much as possible. Making us feel like we belong here. Understanding Management
Cons: Even though we are a big oragnization, where I work is small & promotions are hard to come by.

All of this is a great learning curve
i have a good relationship with all my co-workers a typical day includes maintenance, servicing, repair, installations on chillers, cold rooms and freezer rooms, cooler towers on a typical call out - standby i was always on call for electrical and refrigeration at my previous company which was a smaller company but at this i was surprised that i was paired up with a electrician because of the size of the company what i enjoy is the workmanship in the department no challenge is different than the next
Pros: very professional people very caring about development
Cons: communication between upper and lower management is very unclear

Involved in all aqspects of manufacturing
More than 18 years experience in automotive manufacturing environment. I have made impact that prevent losses and improve throughput to the companies I have worked for in that period. I facilitated feasibility analysis and participated in product launches and revised products to the satisfaction of our OE and export customers. I have also doubled up as a quality systems administrator in the last 4 years

shatterprufe has lot that a person can learn an I have learn a lot from them which I am ready now to share the skills an knowledge with the other companies, I have a very extensive knowledge on SAP ERP system an to supervice an to train my fellow or team members

Cons: i normally work 9 hrs

It's very nice to work at shatterprufe I excel in what I do as a quality inspector but since they cut off 50 percent of the salary the place is not what it used to be but I remain loyal and do what I do best as an inspector

Great opportunity to learn complete plant functioning and activities.
Get ready for daily reporting. Conduct plant walk about review machine up time and safety concerns. Report previous day;s finding to management team. Audit process with team and development continuous improvement practices inline with sound industrial relation practices.

Learn for none appreciation
Morals are down.you won't be appreciated for the work done.people were shot while on strike. It is heart breaking. I love my relationship with my co workers and my team leader, the rest is history.
