Started working as a receptionist and Admin Clerk and moved onto becoming a bookkeeper

Start my day off with checking my emails, save and print invoices received, collect prints from the printer, process purchase orders Daily meeting at 9am Continue with processing of purchase orders and invoices Assist co-workers with daily requirements Issue out petty cash Update cash flow and make payments Get purchase orders signed off by Financial Manager Scan and email purchase orders to the relevant people Filing of signed purchase orders Queries My relationship with my co-workers are very good. I have learnt a lot at Shu Powders Africa I really enjoy my job

Opportunity to broaden ones horizon

A learning curve in the chemical industry as well as Lean Manufacturing. No day is a predictable one. Its filled with excitement, dead lines and urgency. Its a pleasure to work with people that encourage team work as well as allow one to work completely on their own.

Pros: one of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere

Broaden my knowledge

Excellent learning curve

Perform full analysis of Raw material, semi-finished product and finished products • Make sure that the laboratory was safe and clean at all times • Assist in setting up various small projects and perform required tests • Preparation of the experimental results following the SOP's • Perform quality control checks for the laboratory and the warehouse

Pros: Great opportunities for permanent positions
Cons: shifts and long working hours
