I've been equip with a understanding of the financial industry with an administrative role
A typical work day involves login into financial administrative software in the morning and capturing investment instructions by capturing client data, performing bank verification checks, requesting legal documentation , opening of investment accounts and allocation of funds into investment accounts on behalf of individual and legal entities. Co-workers have similar roles with " outbound" and "inhouse" roles where they double check work, share instruction types and assist with business rules. I've learnt that data capturing is not my strong point but I am now aware of administrative knowledge in the financial industry. The most challenging aspect of my current roles is completing back log work on time with overloads of high volumes of investment instructions being received.

I love what I do and where I work. My days are busy, challenging but overall rewarding.
I am challenged daily and enjoy working hard, achieving targets and ensuring I have a happy and motivated team. We are driven by quality, a solution based approach to problem solving and achieving the best we can daily. Our values drive respect for one another, and to have open transparent relationships which is key to effective relationships. I have learnt so much in the new industry I have been in in the past 3 years. Its been challenging and at times I have felt a bit lost knowledge wise but overcame this through having a thirst for knowledge and not letting go until the understanding I need has been obtained. I enjoy the daily pace, assiting others and leaving daily knowing we have made a difference in someone else's life

Season to embrace new things
Working at Silica has been a great experience as it was my first corporate job just after my internship, there was a lot to learn and a lot of growth took place for one, you work with people on a regular basis, there is no way that your character wont be challenged - in a good way of cause You grow into your role, it becomes a part of you and want to be at your best always In HR one learns not to be led by emotions though certain issues may provoke you but yoy learn to take a breather My relationship with colleagues is a good way, I am more of a reflector, I listen, reflect than jump in hence I am never in a middle of a conflict The most challenging aspect is the scanning, its an old system. We don't have garantee that the documents being saved a secure, so its more fustrating than challenging but overall I love my job

Great Learning Opportunity
Silica has a great brand and purpose that I identified with. My work was varied and challenging creating stretch and excitement. I had great relationships with my boss and co-workers. I have learnt that agility is key, not only in the fin tech industry but in most industries in the 4IR. I enjoy leadership development, coaching, change management and implementing a culture that transforms the way employees behave to build a great brand. The most challenging aspects of my job is getting leaders to inspire their people.
