Environmentaql & Emissions conrol Officer, SHEQ system representative

1. Management of he environment included but not limited to water, air, waste and land management by sampling, interpreting analytical results and compiling key indicator reports. Keeping in compliance with permits, licences conditions and a applicable legislation. 2. Maintenance of SHEQ ( ISO 14001, ISO9001 and OHSAS 18001) requirement. Document control. Scheduling and conducting internal audits. follow up on corrective actions. conduct awareness campaigns and continuous improvement training. Conduct management review meetings. 3. Interaction with employees for inspection, investigation and follow up on corrective action implemented. 4. Contractor management 5. Interact with stakeholders. I enjoy interacting with people, solving problems and challenges, promoting best practice and encouraging good house keeping. The most challenging thing is working with a wide verity of age group and the older age group being unskilled labour.

Excellent learning curve

Currently a mine manager, overseeing all applications to various government departments. Support the HR manager with legal as I have an experience as HR Manager as well as Superintendent Industrial Relations. Challenging but learning on daily basis . Strong cultural integration, highly unionised. Participate in budgeting and take care of costs for my department. Supervise subordinates.

An opportunity to grow and a change of environment

My daily job is to make sure that I update personal information on the system. I do filling, terminations, recruitment, organising interviews. I have a good relationship with my co-workers. I have learnt that i should be patient and have good listening skills.I enjoy my job because its challenging and I get to meet new people. Challenge is that I have to deal with 4 different unions in every meetings.

Management is very transparent therefore i learned a lot

My work requires long hours of meetings because the owners of the Mine are from abroad. We submit reports monthly. I have learned.to be proffesional and confidential about employees personal informations.

Learn a lot on different projects

Worked in wide spectrum from furnace maintenance, pumps, conveyors, cooling fans, gearboxes, vibratory screens/feeders, crushers, hydraulics and pneumatics. Worked the last 12 years solely with contractors.

Good learning environment

Interestimg to learn about different products and all the positions in the plant. All yhe responsibilities that are required per employee and how everyone and all things come together.

Career development

Modifications where necessary to improve plant availability with involvement of co- workers when and where required. I have learned that teamwork contributes to success, wellbeing and safety especially when working under pressure of time.

Im a hard worker and always strive for perfect results or outcomes

I enjoy being part of a successful and productive team, I am quick to grasp new ideas and concepts, and to develop innovative and creative solutions to problems, I am able to work well on my own initiative and can demonstrate the high level of motivation required to meet the tightest of deadlines. Even under significant pressure, I possess a strong ability to perform effective.

Good company for learning, they taught me a lot.

On a daily basis I deal with suppliers and different internal personnel with different request and complaints. I believe I have a good a relationship with internal and external staff because I see there's suppliers that still prefer talking to me with queries than the relevant people. I have learnt to negotiate, patience, management skill. I enjoy seeing production running smooth and people smiling after assisting them. Challenges would be non-cooperation, micro management and difficult suppliers.
