Great learning envuronment

working shifts 12 hr shifts, 4 days days a week ( either day or night) i am responsible for 12 biscuit packaging lines carrying out preventive maintenance, size change overs , new installations, attending breakdowns working closely and amicably with production personnel.i have learnt the importance or team work and by and large the need to be in control when situation requires. i enjoy mostly diagnosing and solving breakdowns timeously to optimize plant availability. the challenge is not having the opportunity to execute enough and proper maintenance due to plant demands.

Pros: exposure to variety of packaging equipment, most recently robotics
Cons: no promotion opportunities

Good learning curve

i m working a 12 hr shift day working 4 days a week working closely with the production team of team leaders, operators and line workers. i work in conjunction with fellow maintenance personnel ie electricians, instruments technicians, process fitters, store men and assistants. i have learnt team work, valuable knowledge on packaging machine maintenance, and aspects of social wellness. the most challenging aspect of the job is maintaining a cordial relationship with production personnel because of the pressure to maintain a high percentage on plant availability but at the same time i enjoy being able to resolve breakdowns timorously
