My relationship with my co employees is more like a family kind of relationship I have learnt lot of things but what stood out of all things is being able to make decision and my presentation skills and communication skills have a improved i enjoy capturing month end data at the end of the month the most challenging part of the job is having to decline an overtime of an employee because the right procedure was not followed.

Learning curve

Under pressure most times, doing flight planning for overbooked passengers, solving queries, problems.Deal with unruly passengers, work as a team.Take intiative, miltitasking on a daily basis.Learn to be more efficient and grow more confidence when dealing with pressure constantly.Enjy mostly the passengers and the adrenaline of working under pressure knowing i can and satisfy not just one but a few passengers each day.Get along with all staff as they respect me due me being a senior staff member and how groom and carry myself.I enjoy the profiling of passengers and imposters and identifying false documentation because from experience i am quite good at it if i can say so myself.

Pros: staff discounted tickets for myself and family and friends.Discount at certain hotels.Discount at Table Bay Hotel for female staff for makeup and nails.Act as supervisor when he or she on leave, etc. and get paid for acting supervisor.
Cons: yes we do work long hours especially over the weeknds.Starting at 04h15 in the morning.Always working Christmas and New Year.

I am a fast learner and very dedicated to my job. I am trustworthy and rational.

I sign on for my flight, I check on the teams compliance and documentation. I supervise, liaise with the flight deck crew. I do administration such as paperwork report on issues to be dealt with by management. I interact and give solution to passengers queries. Back at base I give a full report per flight. The most challenging part of my job is limited resources on board the aircraft at 30000 feet and one has to explain and apologize to the passenger about a television set that is not functional and can only be fixed by engineers on the ground

Pros: being able to think on your feet and offer a solution to a problem.
Cons: long hours and working on weekends and holidays.

An all rounder HR Generalist

A typical day entails recruitment, team dynamics and OD matters, grievances/dispute resolutions, interactions with labour, GMs and senior management on all people matters. Have learnt aviation customer touch points, on time performance and productivity/flexibility measures. I enjoyed facilitating and implementing a replacement plan for mission critical roles. The most challenging was the rationalisation (Section 189 process), particularly disputes lodged by affected staff who had to be demoted to lower positions.

Pros: Accountability, independence, growth and freedom to act
Cons: Labour intereference in business efficiencies

BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE

there honestly isn't a typical day when working in the aviation industry. you get to meet different people from different backgrounds, cultures, experiences and upbringing. you need the ability to be empathetic and considerate and friendly to each and every customer you meet. i learned to be sympathetic and patient towards human kind. my co workers brought out the best moments in me because of their crazy personalities. i really enjoyed the experience i got from meeting people from all sorts of backgrounds and travelling as much as i did, gaining exposure to different cultures. the long hours, challenging and difficult customers, working over weekends and holidays and putting customers first, even on the worst days of my life were challenging, but manageable.

Pros: I was given an opportunity to be acting team leader in one of the departments i worked in.
Cons: long hours, working on weekends and holidays

It's a good organisation

It's a good company to work for since co-workers are enthusiastic to work with each other. However there are no processes in place of which was a big learning curve for me to realize the importance of processes.

Pros: travelling
Cons: no flexible work hours
