Excellent learning curve

I really enjoy working where I am. It is a really great platform to learn and grow your knowledge. I enjoy working with everyone especially my community team. I have learnt that you always learn different things from different people, regardless of their role at work, from the driver to senior management so it is important to gather as much information as you can. What I love the most about my work is meeting new people everyday and learning different cultures and traditions. as much as I love my job but challenges like meeting accrual target for study participants is a bit of a challange

Pros: Superb learning atmosphere
Cons: Meeting Accrual Targets

Excellent learning curve

I have learned basic laboratory skills such as centrifuging, Autoclaving, PCR, Electrophoresis, ELISA, RNA and protein extraction, tissue culture particularly PMBC isolation, spectrophotometry and analysing laboratory results during my internship. I also have learned to use Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) in my university module Ethical Information and Communication Technologies and high school subject Computer Application Technology. I believe I am the best-suited candidate, because I am a team player, fast learner, and work well under pressure. My attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills ensure that every lab test I work on is done accurately and to the highest possible standard. I always aim to be the best in everything that I do. Furthermore, I am always willing to learn from other people. I promise you that you will not regret it if you choose me.

Pros: great job opportunity
Cons: none

Good working medical research with lot of opportunities.

The company I work to have several unit/ department. At my unit, our research use animals which include nonhuman primate (Vervet monkeys and Rhesus monkeys) and rodents (mouse, rats) to develop a non-commmunicable disease model. This requires persistence and a good environment. Thus, manage goo relationships with y co-workers and we all strive for excellent results. I started here as an Intern, hence most of the scientific techniques that I excel in I lean here such as PCR, real-time PCR, extracting DNA and RNA either from blood or tissue, the use of bioinformatics tool and gut analysis. So far, a significant achievement in a scientific publication. I enjoy attending workshops, conferences, scientific meetings because it is here you get to learn more outside your field. However, there are still challenges in getting funding for a project and traveling.

Pros: Allow employees to study further
Cons: 8 hours

Learning and application of skills

I am an academic by nature, what I love about my job is the application of theoretical concepts in day to day work scenarios. The utilization of what one has been educated on , to see it manifest in reality , and being able to utilize the techniques and theory and apply this solving challenges at work. I have a passion for Supply chain. i would say the most challenging aspects of my job currently is the compliance to National treasury regulations. Adherence to strict regulations in every day supply chain and procurement settings.

Pros: The experience and exposure. Working with specialised people, gaining the insight and experience in the supply chain facet
Cons: None

Excellent learning environment. Great place for professional growth!!

We work for 8 per day. My relationship with my colleagues is a very professional one and we respect each other very much. we assist each other wherever we can ,but most we work very hard and well together to ensure that we provide professional service to our participants and we meet the goals of our project. I have learnt a lot, such as data collection, data entry and quality control. The most challenging aspects is working with different professionals in different facilities and also keeping track of participants that we work with.

Pros: Great opportunity for growth
Cons: Working on contract basis
