Frontliner / Medical Aid Consultant

Working in Optometry has been a great challenge as to myself always being in an admin role. Everyday you dealt with different clients as I was the face of the company. I can work well in a team and got along well with all my co-workers. For the past 5 years working at Spectacle Warehouse I have learnt that you deal with different people with different views, I have learnt much in my time of being here. I am doing medical aid benefits, pre-testing patients, cash up, book appointments and creating new patient folders. What I enjoy most is when I need to communicate to the patients with regards to there medical aid funds or just booking or making appointments. Cos you get to meet new people everyday. My most challenging aspect of my job is to handle every patient differently, you do get very irate people on a day to day basis. But to me its a new challenge everyday which I enjoyed most.

Pros: Great opportunity for gaining experience
Cons: You work 6 day weekly

Excellent opportunity to learn more within the industry.

A basic work day will consist of dispensing new spectacles for patients. I love learning from my peers and colleagues. I enjoy the fact that I have an opinion at work, that they are always willing to help me try and better myself. Upselling is what I enjoy most, if only I were rewarded for it. I wish the company had a commission structure as well. Working with the public is always challenging but it can be very rewarding at the same time. CSI is important to me to help me grow.

Pros: Excellent peers.
Cons: Not competive salary.

Medical

I am Currently Unemployed, I relocated back to Amanzimtoti 1st November 2016 from Pretoria. I worked for Spectacle Warehouse from 05 September 2015 til 30th October 2016. I enjoy working for the medical industry. I am willing to start at the lowest salary level and to work myself to the top.

Pros: growth oppertunities
Cons: long houers with no overtime

In my present career I work with people every day, i enjoy it and it gives me a sense of satisfaction to know I'm delivering a service. I enjoy the environment and i find the work interesting and satisfying. The opportunities given to me can strengthen new skills within me so that I can achieve my working goals in life.
