Team work based call centre, multifaceted skill required in each position

Call centre based on assisting customer with Sport betting related queries. Knowledge about gambling sector is required including regulatory protocols (e.g. FICA) applicable to the customer care agents and the customer. We work 12 hour shifts in small groups of 5 members including the team leader. All company departments and personnel (especially technical support team) work together with us the customer care agents to solve issues arising from customer experience. I have learnt to work in a team that encourages independent thinking and encourages the use of intuitiveness and analytic approach to solve problems. Also respect and openness amongst individuals is encouraged. The downside is the 12 hour shifts (especially night shifts) that usually are not busy and growth in the company is limited as a small company the staff is not often rotated hence available positions are always occupied unless someone leaves the company.

Cons: long hours (12 hour shifts), no growth

Pros: learnt a new industry
Cons: its depressing to see people with gambling addictions.
